District Convention Update: Sarnia

The Sarnia convention may long be remembered as one of the busiest District events in recent times. Approximately 400 delegates from the 16 nations that make up our EC&C District converged on the scenic boarder town.

Our Division was well represented with delegates attending from most of our clubs:

  • Owen Sound

  • Meaford

  • Collingwood

  • Barrie

  • Barrie Golden K

  • Orillia

For me, this convention was particularly busy. In addition to attending events and our Trustee's Board meeting, I took part in the training sessions for the Class of 2004-2005 Lieutenant Governors and all associated events and Board meetings.

If doing double duty was to yield little free time, then the following events would insure that there was none.

Every year the “Class” of Lieutenant Governors is called upon to select one of their rank to sit on the District's Executive Committee as the Class President. The 2004-2005 Class choose me to serve in this capacity.

I look forward to these added responsibilities and will offer a full report at our next Caucus Meeting.
