Picturesque
Chicoutimi lies on the banks of Lac-Saint-Jean in the region
of the Saguenay. The Saguenay is a vast territory of wild,
visually stunning landscapes; of large lakes, meandering
rivers, towering mountains and a fjord carved out of a
glacial valley.
In August of 2005 Kiwanians through out
Eastern Canada and the Caribbean flew, motored, trained or
biked to this beautiful town located in the heart of French
Québec.
In addition to the Kiwanis learning
opportunities and good comradeship that was experienced by
all the Lieutenant Governor's in the 2004–2005 class were in
for some particularly spectacular treats.
Our adventure began with a boat
journey up the Saguenay. Here we saw the sheer rock
cliffs of the great fiord.
Lieutenant Governor Gary enjoys the trip
along with Ottawa based LG Rick Barrigar.
Governor Dr. John Button
enjoys our boat cruise.
Our eventual destination was la Baie;
home of best restaurant in all of the Saguenay.
Host
Lieutenant Governor, Marcel Bouchard owns the magnificent
boutique Inn and restaurant: Auberge des 21
For the past 13 years this Inn has grown to become renown
amongst the Gourmet Relays of Québec. Marcel varies his menu
each week to satisfy and surprise his customers. We were not
disappointed.
Lieutenant Governors relax with their partners and enjoy the
fine cuisine that LG Marcel and his staff have prepared for
us to enjoy.
After dinner we were entertained by the music of
LG Serge Tremblay
Distinguished Governor with Honours Milton Peach and
Joan enjoy a quiet moment.
Immediate Past Governor Joanne Murray relaxes
with PLG Jim Steele.
Our newly appointed Lieutenant
Governor, John Hamilton, beams with pride during our
Governor's banquet.
Lieutenant Governor Gary along with

Elected to the position of Governor
Elect, Ed Kelly and Marilyn enjoy a moment at our
